Treatment for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

“It’s like having mental hiccups. Mostly, we can function despite the ‘hiccups,’ but we’re exhausted attempting to carry on as if they didn’t exist.” – Sheila Cavanaugh

Are you ready to face your fears?

Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a mental health disorder in which a person experiences intrusive and recurring thoughts (obsessions) and/or participates in repetitive behaviors (compulsions).  Presenting symptoms usually begin in the teen or young adult years and can appear in early childhood. The obsessions and compulsions interfere with activities of daily living and can vary in severity throughout one's life.

Stacey Bankston, LMFT, is a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP), and has completed significant training around OCD, its symptoms and treatment. The first part of treatment would include an assessment to better understand the severity of symptoms and which category the obsessive thoughts may fall into (i.e., contamination, ordering, violence, morality, doubt).

If you feel you may be experiencing symptoms of OCD, please feel free to contact Stacey Bankston, LMFT, to schedule a free 15-minute phone consultation to learn if you would benefit from OCD treatment.
